Dave is a graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and he is also a North Carolina licensed Certified Public Accountant.

With over 35 years of progressive experience as a strategic CFO and senior-level advisor for numerous high-growth small to mid-sized companies, Dave’s passion is helping owners to achieve sustainable growth through strong strategic planning and execution, focusing on key business drivers to continuously improve critical processes and to remove barriers to success. He has led successful efforts including investor search, capital funding, business valuation, turnaround management, and exit strategy formulation and execution, both as a CFO and as a business owner.

He provides consulting services on an as-needed long-term basis, serving as trusted business adviser. This helps privately held businesses as they benefit from his deep experience, without the fully loaded cost of a full-time employee.

Dave’s sweet spot is working with small business owners with annual sales in the $5M - $40M range experiencing high growth and its related challenges. He works closely with the owner to quickly determining the "gap" between current state and the desired goal, and then creates and implements strategic actions to close that gap and achieve success. Dave has extensive experience in teaching business owners how to create and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve targeted results. He has worked across many industries including Health Services, dealing effectively with growth-related challenges, whether operational, organizational, or financial.
